Member Spotlight: Peter Richie

Peter Ritchie is an independent consultant based in Canada with clients in the United States and Canada.

Beyond his consulting work, Peter has made significant contributions to the developer community. He is the author of three books on Visual Studio, a former Microsoft MVP for 13 consecutive years, and an ASP.NET Insider. His open-source projects—including Pri.LongPath, Pri.Messaging, and Productivity Extensions—have been widely adopted, with millions of downloads. He has also contributed extensively to the .NET ecosystem, adding missing documentation, analyzers, and tooling to improve developer productivity. Peter's open-source contributions go way back, being the first non-Microsoft employee to contribute to Codeplex. His most recent open-source project is Dotnet PowerShell Cmdlets - PowerShell commands for .NET solutions and projects.

Peter Ritchie is a recognized industry leader and senior software architect with over two decades of experience delivering innovative solutions across the finance, healthcare, insurance, and enterprise sectors. With deep expertise in IT architecture, domain-driven design, API design, and C#, Peter has guided organizations such as GEICO, Quicken Loans, FM, and Accenture through complex technical transformations. His leadership has shaped evolutionary architectures, improved delivery pipelines, and established governance practices that enhance quality and consistency.
Peter is an international conference speaker, sharing insights on topics ranging from domain-driven design to naming conventions and software architecture practices.
